The beginning...

At the outset, one may say that KUFSA is an off-shoot of a similar organization called NUFSA (Nagoya University Foreign Student Association). While a graduate student at Nagoya University, I became deeply involved in the activities of NUFSA, after having been "inadvertently" elected as its President in 1993/1994. My involvement in foreign student activities took a further turn with my being appointed as one of the Advisors of AFSA (Aichi Foreign Student Association) for the years 1994 to 1996.

The experiences gained from those undertakings came in handy when I decided to found KUFSA. With the assistance and strong support from several local volunteer associations such as Bushozan International Association, Ayakami International Association, Takamatsu International Association, and Kagawa International Association, KUFSA was launched on 3rd April 1997. Kagawa University formally announced the establishment of KUFSA in July 1997.
